Musings About Sunsets

Give me a sunset and I
Will tackle it in a hug.
I will engulf it into my arms
So that it leaves a burning imprint;
Reminding me continuously
Later, during the dark hours of night
Of what a beautiful day it had been.

Give me a sunset and I
Will hold it’s light
In the dark realms of my memory
Till I see the first rays of dawn
Till I feel the tickling of a new hope.

Give me a sunset and I
Will let it brand its brilliance
Onto my eyes;
So that when I see the new day
I wouldn’t have forgotten
What it would be like to see the sunset again.
